My charge 5 is 100% charged but it will only display a black screen with 5 dots at the top with one being red.  I have pressed the button on the charge cord 3 times and then waited 10 secs but nothing is working.
it is only 6 months old. How do I get it back running please?

My Charge 5 went black today too. It happened during a swim (the device was in "water lock" mode). Even after drying for 3+ hours, the screen remains black, though the device is fully charged and synced, per the FitBit iOS app. The forced restart (pressing the button on the charger 3x and waiting 10 seconds was not effective. The green light on the wrist side is bilking, and the device vibrates when I attach it to the charger.

Same problem - happened about 6 hours ago and have spent half the day trying to fix it. Someone from Fitbit suggested on another board to unpair it on Bluetooth and go through the Set up Device again.  Don't do this because it will ask for the four letter code which of course you won't be able to see because your screen is blank 🙄

Thanks. Actually mine came back after pressing the button on the charge cord three times, finally. I was going to restart it from the app as you can do that without losing any data. This was a suggestion I saw somewhere too.

Your original charging cord should have a button near the usb end.

Thank you! Yes, I found it shortly after writing the question. I was able to correct the black screen problem by pressing the restart button 3 times.
