@Mark0Donnell Thanks for your reply.
There was an outage a few weeks ago that caused interruptions in some Fitbit services, but this should now be resolved and you should be able to sync and update your goal.
Could you please confirm if the issue persists or if you're now able to see your data?

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Mark0Donnell.
Thanks for sharing this information about the issues you've been experiencing with your Charge 5.
If you haven't done so already, please try the following steps that have been useful for other users:
In addition, I recommend that you try restarting the device using the three pulse restart method:
If you're still having any issues, let me know if you already tried all the steps listed here to resolve syncing problems, and make sure to check the compatibility requirements listed here and to keep the Fitbit app updated to the latest version available.
Regarding the calories replacing steps as your main goal, could you please provide a few more details about this issue? You can change your main goal following the steps described in this article.
About your heart rate, the restart should also help if you feel this information is not being tracked properly. In addition, please follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information and check the information mentioned here about other factors that could affect your heart rate reading, this has been useful to other users who have experienced something similar.

Thanks. Tried all of the above. No luck. The Fitbit decided unilaterally to change the main goal on Tuesday 7th Feb 2023. The android app can see the device but will not pair. iPad app cannot. Neither app is connecting with Fitbit server. Firmware and systems up to date on both android and iPad.

Same problem for me today 3/19/23. I checked to be sure my OS was current and it was, I turned off bluetooth, turned it back on, turned off Charge 5 and opened it up again, iPad said it was 'found' but would not update. Cals were instead of steps which weren't current either. I had a live chat with FitBit this morning in hopes that by now they would have figured it out. Nope still now working. This is the second time I've had issues with this relatively new tracker and have lost count how many trackers I've had. Perhaps I need to try a different brand.

@saundra125 Thanks for confirming that you tried several troubleshooting steps.
Could you please confirm if you're still having this problem? I've been informed that you were to get in touch with the Customer Support team again for further assistance with this and it seems they've provided you with some instructions. In this case, they will let you know how to proceed.
Have a good day.

Thankfully I was able to contact a great person thru the 'live chat' who, after several minutes, managed to help me get the tracker working again. Would not have happened without him.
