My nightly breathing rate is not displaying any data on the metrics dashboard. I have data for the other features. How can I get the breathing rate function to work on my Charge 5? The breathing rate data is one reason I purchased the Charge 5

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @SBSTN.
Thank you for sharing this information about the problem that you've been experiencing with your Breathing rate.
Before considering other options, please verify that your Fitbit has logged a sleep session for at least three hours long on consecutive nights. If you're still having trouble, make sure to complete a restart procedure. Keep in mind that only sleep periods greater than 3 hours are considered and that you need to wear your device for at least a full day, including to sleep at night.
In case the problem is related to the app, please follow the steps listed here below:
Hope this helps, I'll be around.

I'm having the same problem. It was working fine then quit for the last 2 nights. All the other metrics are working including oxygen saturation. My sleep has been logged as over 8 hours on both the nights.
I'm going to try the suggestions and see what happens. 🤔
---------------
I logged out of the Fitbit app and cleared the cache. I'm not sure how to reset the cookies in the app. There is nothing in app settings about that on Android. After I finished I opened the app and logged back in and synced the Charge 5. Still no breathing rate showing for the last 2 nights.
Then I reset the Charge 5 from the settings screen on the device. Went back to the app and synced again. Still no breathing rate for either of the last two nights.
Any other suggestions?

Failed to record breathing rate again last night. Maybe logging out, clearing the cache, logging back in, and restarting the device is something that must be done every couple of weeks to keep things running. I'm gonna try it and see if I get a breathing rate tomorrow. All the other metrics have been working fine.

Nor is mine on my 2 week old Charge 5. Fitbit support only tells me they are aware of the issue and attempting to fix. My research seems to point to this issue as far back as last summer. Fitbit still advertises the Charge 5 and others provide this measurement. I think they have to do better....fix the issue and in the meantime advise all medias that their advertising is false. The current situation is not acceptable. They cannot continue to lie to the public.
-----
P.S. I've been in daily contact with Fitbit Support and have done everything they have asked. Now, they throw up their hands and say they are aware and just be happy with a not fully functional device.

Welcome to the Community forums, @FranzJ4.
Thank you for sharing that you're experiencing this inconvenience with your Breathing rate as well.
I've seen that some users are able to resolve with some standard troubleshooting steps, but it seems that you already tried all the steps suggested by the Customer Support team. Let me know if you are able to see the breathing rate section on the Health Metrics but you don't see any data there or if you're not able to see a breathing rate section at all?
As you mentioned, some users have indeed reported that their breathing rate is missing from their Health Metrics tile; the team is already aware of this problem and they're working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible, but we haven't received other updates for the moment.
See you around.

It's been several weeks...I've tried everything and still do not see any breathing rate in my Health Metrics. Support has no answer.

Thanks Bill. I agree with everything you say. I've deleted the App,
reinstalled, cleared cookies and cache, reset Charge 5 to factory...on both
my phone and tablet. Still no joy. For the record, both my devices are
quite new high end Samsung.
Fitbit simply says wait for updates which "might" solve the issue. I don't feel that is satisfactory as they market the Charge 5 capable with this metric.

Is there any update to timeline to anticipated resolution to the issue with breathing rate not reporting? This does not work for my husbands charge 5, never has, and frustrated that we bought him something for Xmas that does work as advertised!

I have heard nothing from Fitbit on this device not working for breath rate as advertised. Mine never did work. It appears Fitbit has abandoned any attempt to fix. In the meantime they continue their false and misleading advertising. I'd think there would be some legal recourse for their false advertising.
