Calorie counter too high

Fitbit is over estimating my calories burnt. Yesterday it told me I used 6500 calories which I definitely did not. I walked 22000 steps and do a physical job in construction but no way do I burn 6500 calories. How do I make the necessary adjustments to my Fitbit ?

Do you realize Fitbit includes your BMR (basal metabolic calorie) burn, the calories your body is always burning just to stay alive? These typically account for more than half your daily calorie burn.  And no, you cannot turn these off.  They are calories you are burning.

From How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Otherwise, check your weight is entered correctly.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
