Charge 5: Add Card Keeps Popping Up on Watch

My Charge 5 keeps having "Add Card" pop up on the screen. If I click "Got It" to clear it, it pops up again seconds later. I've tried to reset the watch. This happened immediately after I went swimming yesterday. It was the first time the watch has been in the water.

Charge 5 is basically unusable.  Once in a while will show the correct time then goes to the "add card" message.  Mostly I see a blank screen or sometimes the "add card" message for less than a second.  Started when I left the watch on the charger overnight.
