Like an astonishing number of others, my fitbit has been chaotic since 20th October and I've been jumping through all the hoops the @helpers have given me.
The current status is the quick battery depletion from 100% to 0% though I have done a few things to make it a bit better.
Ive turned off a lot of the features, SP02, notifications, alarms etc basically turning it in to a dumb watch not a smart one. The latest thing Ive done is turn off Bluetooth. That has let me battery last up to 9 hours so far. Before the update, if I wanted to see my steps in the app on my android phone I would have to turn bluetooth back on so how come my app is keeping track of the step shown on my fitbit. It never used to do that, is that why the battery is getting used up so fast, because it is syncing via another method

I'm trying to get to the bottom of this because @help have been no help and I go spend ££ on another brand.

Hello @SunsetRunner
When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery loss, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I saw a rapid drop in battery, I restarted my Charge 5 and put it on the charger until it was back to 100%, often doing this multiple times in a day. Eventually, this process got my device "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work for you, it might be worth a try.
