Charge 5 Black Screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 5 screen was working last night and has gone black this morning. It is less than a year old.
The device itself seems to be working as the app shows my step count etc for the day.
I’ve already tried reset, long reset and changing the clock face with no success.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Having the same issue, except my stuff is not being tracked. It's completely unresponsive today. Mine had an update last night. Did yours?

How can you tell?

It showed an update available on my app and I kicked it off. After that it stopped working. Mine is back on now after I tried the reset again.

I removed my Charge 5 from my account, removed the Bluetooth connections, and readded it.  It is alive, but it is not doing heartrate/sleep collection.  Still working on it.

Hi everyone, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @RamblingJax @mcorn12 @ChristopherMD.

Thank you for sharing that you've having this inconvenience with your Charge 5 device and that you already tried a few troubleshooting steps.

If you already tried to complete the 3 pulse restart procedure and you continue to experience the same problem, please try these additional steps that have been useful for other people experiencing something similar:

  1. Please follow these steps in case you're having trouble to charge your device.
  2. Please sync your device in the Fitbit app by tapping your profile picture > Charge 5 > Sync Now.
  3. If you  can't sync, tap on your profile picture > Charge 5 > Tap to see if a firmware banner appears.
  4. If it's still unresponsive, please try changing the clock face as well and check if you're able to see anything on the display.

Hope this helps, I'll be around.

I’ve already tried all that with no success as I said earlier.
At 23:30 the Fitbit had more than 60% battery. It died at 03:52 - not that I noticed until this morning!

any more suggestions?

I had mine first show only horizontal lines then this morning Black. It's tracking but you can't see anything or use any of the functions on the device. I tried all the steps and nothing. Contacted customer service (NO help) and they said since this is (YES) the second replacement in 7 months, I have to send in the device to get a new one. Why didn't I just buy an Apple Watch as at least I know their quality. There is no customer service and the quality of the product is obviously not there. Very disappointed and disillusioned with the company and their products.
