Charge 5 Clears Data After Reset

Hello!

 

About once every two months or so, my Charge 5 completely stops syncing with my app. Not an app issue - a confirmed FitBit issue. The Charge 5 still works - it just doesn’t sync. Symptoms of the issue are:

-delayed response when waking the device

-lags in scrolling

-unable to sync steps

-does not record sleep

-carries data over from the day before

-not charging

 

the only way I’ve found to fix this issue is to reset the device. This returns it to normal - at the cost of resetting my entire day! If I reset it in the evening, it puts me at 0 steps, 0 zone minutes, and 0 cals burned no matter what I did that day. FitBit tells me my data will not be lost with a reset, so why is it wiping my data when it malfunctions? Has any other Charge 5 owner experienced this?

This happened to me this morning. Lost my workout minutes and all of my steps, my sleep from last night, everything. SO frusterating.
