Charge 5 Clock Face error

I just bought my Charge 5 and I tried to change the clock face. After trying to install for 3 seconds it just said unable to install try again later and now it just says error on my watch clock face and I cannot change it back nor will it let me install a different clock face it just keeps saying unable to install over and over again. I have tried restarting it, deleting user data unlinking it from my fitbit app and no matter what I have tried it just keeps doing it.

Exact same thing happened to me tonight. I just got the charge 5 today. Got it set up, hit the gym. Everything was working great. Came home, thought I’d try out a new clock face and it got stuck trying to switch to the new one. Not only that, but now it keeps saying it can’t sync even though it’s 100% connected to my phone. So now I have no clock screen just a black screen saying to go to the Fitbit app and try an new clock! I’ve reset everything. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Signed out and back in. All of it. Also, my premium membership icons and all access are now magically gone as is my of my profile info I set up earlier. What is this?! I finally decided to give Fitbit a try and this is what it is? I need answers. The website help just takes you around in a circle and the online chat help is down. Need this fixes asap or a new tracker.

Identical problem! Worked OK then tried to change the clock face. Now I just have a permanent clock face error AND a flaky Bluetooth connection.

I've spent decades developing consumer products. This Charge 5 is not fit for purpose.

I also bought mine a few hours ago and have spent the last few hours troubleshooting to no avail. I contacted support and they said they had to send a report to a specialised team in my country who would contact be my email at some point. Very disappointed.

same but i’ve had mine for a few days. i think it must be some sort of server error on FitBit’s side cause every other time i’ve switched the clocks it’s worked perfectly

The exact same thing just happend to me, I was searching for help or answers and I found this topic. I brought mine in october 2021 and after trying to change the clock face, no screen clock, no sync, just nothing. I'm really upset 'cause since I have the Charge 5, there is a lot of problems and no help and solution from Fitbit! The Charge 3 was waaaay better

Me too. Bought mine 2 days ago - tried everything - nothing works just an error nessage. Hope someone at fitbit jumps on this soon.

Same problem here. Tried everything suggested but left with a message on Charge 5. ‘Clock Error - go to Fitbit app and try another clock’. This doesn’t work though. Bought this Charge 5 a couple of weeks ago to replace my charge 2. Seems like an expensive mistake at the moment.

I did a firmware update and the issue disappeared. Worth a try!

got similar issues during these 2 days. the main reason was following the firmware upgrade some apps did need to be updated as well. i tried to change clock and for 7-8 times failed. I then let the fitbit app finishing the processes and solve it. Hope this can help. Definitively the interaction between fitbit app and the device should be improved
