At midnight my Charge 5 suddenly became unresponsive. Black screen, reset not working. Logo won't even appear. Right before it became unresponsive I had 58% on the battery so its not dead. It's less than a year old. (Bought Feb 2022) Anyone else?

Connect to the charger and install the update. You need to let it sit on the charger for about an hour before doing the update. Really stupid that it becomes totally useless until you install the update. I didn’t get the update notice until about 9 hours after my Fitbit became unresponsive. I was at Disneyland and it should I did 1150 steps and it is usually a 10k plus day easily.

Hi, @KNVCravatt , that sounds unusual! Even though it appeared to have plenty of charge, I would still plug it in to a charger and wall socket known to be working and give it a good two hours charge - even if it does not seem to be charging.
When it has been plugged in for a couple of hours try the restart procedure again: press the button on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds. It is a little difficult to get the timing right on the restart, so you may need to try it a few times. Each press must last about one second and you should pause for about one second in between each press. I find it is easiest to get the timing right by saying the words aloud as you press and pause: press - pause - press - pause - press and then wait (10 secs) for the logo. Don’t forget that the Fitbit needs to be plugged in the whole time.
Sometimes changing the clock face can also bring an unresponsive Fitbit back to life, so it is also worth trying this (again, please do give it a good charge first). You can change the clock face on your app (not the Fitbit itself, but do make sure your Charge 5 is nearby. On your app click on the device picture and go to Gallery and select any clock face. If this does bring your Charge 5 back to life you can revert to your original clock face if you prefer.
Hopefully either the restart or the clock face change will kick it back to life, but if not, don’t delay in getting in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on Contact.Fitbit.com , as your Charge 5 should still be under guarantee. Be sure to tell them the troubleshooting steps you have already tried, as that will save time.
I hope this helps! Welcome to the forums, good luck, and let us know how it goes.

It worked long enough to charge and do the update and then overnight it drained the battery. I contacted support and after awhile they gave me replacement options and are sending a new one. Hopefully it will work better. I tried charging it and wearing it again and now I have a red chrcle with a white X in it and it does absolutely nothing. Can reset it can’t charge it.
