Charge 5 Dark Screen + 5dots on top

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit Charge 5 is 6 months old and suddenly has no display (though keeps tracking all data and movements).  It is only showing 5 bright dots on  top of the screen (4 white and one green). Have tried to reset to no avail.

I have the same problem except the middle dot is red.  Maybe we bought JUNK?

Me too! Ugh.

Same. Started a couple of nights ago. Any support from FitBit to fix? It's my first FitBit, liked it until now.

Just got off chat, confirmed defective and should be replaced. Mine's still under warranty. Hope the next one does not have the same issue.

I let the battery die (down to 0%) and then charged it again.  It worked.  Screen is back on

how long did it take for the battery to die down? Mine lasts days under normal use.

Battery lasts a couple of days. I’m waiting for it to go to 0 and charge it. Hope it works. I’ve only had it a few months

I had the same problem.  Running the battery down might work although I got on my Fitbit phone app and changed the Clock Face.  It worked!
Maybe give that a try?
Thanks

Go to your fitbit app on tour phone. Click ion your picture. Click charge 5 synced (just above the setup device).Click on Gallery, then clock faces. Pick a clock any clock face and hit install. Charge 5 should respond.  You can then switch to the clock face you prefer.

Thanks Jack1952 much for this workaround for the screen bug!

Change the clock face in the Fitbit app which sorts the problem. There after change the clock face back to what you were using before. Easy solution

This happen to me also.  I let the Fitbit's battery run out and then when I recharged it, problem solved.

Yea, Jack1952 had a solution that worked for me. I will elaborate:

Go to the Fitbit app, click your avatar in the upper left corner, select your charge 5, go to gallery, turn the slider on top over to clocks, select a new face, click back a screen, then scroll down to “sync Fitbit”. Several steps in there but it seems to have worked for several people here.
