My Fitbit Charge 5 calculates my heart rate as double at some times during the day / night. Thus it counts systolic and diastolic beats on the same time. I have checked this with another monitor. Its very inconsistent and unreliable. Moving the device up on my arm or tightening the band does not make a difference. Have reset the settings and device is updated. How can this be fixed?

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @DG27.
Thank you for sharing this information about the inconvenience that you've been experiencing with your Charge 5 and that you already tried a few troubleshooting steps.
I noticed you mentioned a reset, I recommend that you try restarting the device again using the three pulse restart method mentioned here below, instead of the restart option found on the Charge 5 itself:
In addition, please follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information and check the information mentioned here about other factors that could affect your heart rate reading.
I'll be around.
