Charge 5 Dynamic mode not working

On my Charge 5 if my GPS is set to Dynamic mode and my phone is available it will still connect to the GPS on the Charge 5 not my Phone's GPS.  If I change the GPS setting it does connect to Phone it does then use the Phone's GPS without a problem.

 

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

 

So, far Fitbit Support (1st level) has not been able to help or even suggest anything I could try.  They were trying to contact a higher level of support.

I heard back from Fitbit Support.  Apparently, it is a know problem and they don't know when they are going fix it.  See the response below:

Hi same for me too - this is really getting on me nerves! the battery life on the charge 5 with gps is not great so i though in conjunction with my phone gps (dynamic mode) would be ideal. It just does not connect at all the my phone gps - very very disappointed! 

Come on Fitbit - no fix - really?? if this is the case i am afraid my not as advertised charge 5 will be going back for a refund!
