I experience severe battery loss after the update. Have to charge every other day

black screen unresponsive started for me today. So strange because my battery was full charge last night to restart and troubleshoot but no success.  Anybody have any luck or recommendations. Only purchased this a year ago 🤦🏻‍:female_sign:

2 weeks ago I experienced sudden battery drainage. And as of the last few days the device won't turn on. Just getting a black screen. Disgusting behavior from Fitbit.

My fitbit stopped working yesterday.

I un-installed and reinstalled and still won't connect.

The battery is 100%

Reboot the phone? Sometimes I need to, to reengage the Bluetooth.

I haven't looked at my Fitbit app for several months. When I finally did the other day, I was very puzzled. There appears to be no way to manually sync my Fibit Charge 5 -- no icon, no link, no button, nothing. Not on any screen in the app. And I can't find the large workout graphs that used to be there. What is the deal? Is there a way to go back to the old interface? Thanks.

Swipe down while on the main (Today) page of the app to have it manually sync.

In the screenshot, the little cursor arrow represents your finger having started the swipe down.  You can see how it shows "Release to sync" at the top.

My work-@-round for this is to sign into my Fitbit dashboard via a browser on my device, then open the fitbit app on my device. If needed I sometimes need to sign out of the Fitbit dashboard and log back in, and usually this then allows me to sync my Fitbit with the app, and displays the usually tracking.

My Fitbit Charge 5 bricked on Monday early morning. After a first call of trying to change the clock face, I successfully had the Fitbit finally displaying again with the new clock face last night. But the battery drains rapidly. Literally from 100 to 0 in less than an hour. I've tried troubleshooting with turning off a lot of hte functions and called customer support a second time. They incorrectly said that I had the latest 188.58 and that it was all that could be done. Obviously, I found this post and this is inaccurate. A third chat with customer support tells me that there's no way for me to get the new update and I have to "wait." Is there anyone out there at Fitbit that actually knows what they're doing or can act with authority help? Please???

This does not work on the app when the only thing displayed is the Fitbit logo.

My charge 5 is working, thanks. Possible operator error 🤔. Sent from Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Sorry about that, I posted the reply in the wrong thread and couldn't get
it deleted. Sadly my Fitbit and my daughter's also bricked yesterday
somewhere between 2pm and 4pm

Hello,

I'm happy to say that Fitbit accepted to replace my Charge 5. This is a good news and it shows that Fitbit respect it's customers, and they don't want people to think their device will become obsolete faster than they should. Interestingly, my "new" Charge 5 has the firmware 188.58.

I hope this gives hope to other people having the same issue.

Before I gave up on Fitbit altogether, after a 10 year love affair, I contacted customer service advising them of yet another unhappy customer.  Fitbit Charge 5 battery now needs charging twice a day.  I was asked to restart by pushing the charger button 3 times and waiting for the logo.  Did this.  It didn't show at their end so I did it again.  Didn't show again.  I was asked to take a video of me pushing the button because I obviously wasn't doing it right.  Seriously!!  I suggested that perhaps there was something wrong with device and that's why the CS rep couldn't see it.  That wasn't even considered.  They have to follow "the protocol".  I said Goodbye and took off my Fitbit for the last time and put on my $39 MILOUZ smartwatch. So far it works beautifully and if it dies after a year or so, I'm only out $39.  I can live with that.  Thanks to all the Fitbit Community for making me feel that I wasn't alone.  Good luck to all!

So my Charge 5 was sitting on the charger today while I wore my Galaxy Watch 5, and I went to switch. Checked the app to make sure it is charged and synching (I've gotten pretty good at resurrecting my "bricked" Charge 5), and saw that it had an update available. Started the update, agreed to the conditions, and off it went. The status bar on the watch got slowly to about 10 percent, then immediately jumped to 100. The app thought for another 10 seconds, and then said that the update failed. I confirmed full charge, bluetooth and internet connections, and tried again another five times. Still the same error. Tried a three-button-restart, watch came back, and lo and behold there is no longer an update available, still showing firmware version 188.58.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm happy to work with Fitbit if they want to try and troubleshoot this.

This update bricked my charge 5. It was fully charged and would only light up with the Fitbit logo or a red circle with a white x in it. I’ve tried everything to restart/reboot/reconnect it to no avail. Will be contacting support to try to figure out the next steps. Not sure this is fixable since it won’t boot or connect.

Mine was such on the Fitbit logo for 2 days. None of the support
suggestions worked for me. I left it on the charger, today it suddenly
works and is syncing with my phone. Unfortunately the battery went from
100% to 8 in 4 hrs

Do they really respect their customers. Yes, you are one of the lucky ones that got a replacement. What about the hundreds, thousands of other customers with Fitbits just out of warranty that have bricked Fitbits because of no fault of their own. Weird that all these Fitbits are bricking around the same time but it’s not Fitbits fault! They take zero responsibility. You would think they would have an explanation as to why this is happening.

My fitbit suddenly started the battery draining problem yesterday: 100% to 0% in two hours. After looking at other posts I'm pretty sure that my hardware share the same problem with the firmware update.

Since the update my Charge 5 has frozen, shut down, and no longer holds a charge for a full day. How do I get a replacement for this device?

Same thing started happening to me. Will the company replace?
So many are experiencing the same problems. This needs rectifying.
