You're not the only one my friend. I think you speak for a huge majority of us. I fully concur..

Hi,
Unfortunately I am suffering from the same problem a lot of fitbit users are facing recently. My charge 5 was working fine till early of this week after the update with an average charging interval every 7 days/ 3 days when using gps while biking and it has been like this since I had it in late Dec 2022 (almost 15 months).
All started with my screen turned black unresponsive even after full charge and hard resets. When connecting it to my laptop later, the screen turned on and start to charge again.
Afterwards, i suffered from the same common frustration a lot of fitbit users are having: battery can't hold charge and drain in less than a couple of hours.
Couple of thoughts to share with you:
- is it common that the battery suddenly malfunction without a deteriorating period where one starts to notice the need for charge on a shorter period ( i.e., gradual decreasing non-charging periods)?
-Most,if not all, this problem reporting is picking up after the new update and the modest purchase of new released charge 6 (which doesn't provide almost no upgrade to the charge 5).
I am not a conspiracy person but need to understand what is happening and why nowadays. And amassed with the blunt carelessness replies by the technical non-support team needles to mention the negligence towards those raised claims and frustration by the fitbit customers ( which I am sure will decrease significantly in the next short period)
Finally, I am pretty sad about the general failure of the one day successful brand which will definitely be taught as an example of complete failure after an unremarkable previous success.

My Charge 5 today while driving vibrated and the screen went black. Not home so will look at tomorrow. May be the last straw for me.

I’m very disappointed in the changes to the sleep tracker. What was a handy, easy to read , one screed display is now a multi screen mess. Go back to the old display with the breathing monitor on the same screen please.
Don’t fix what is not broken.

I completely agree.
And feel like I must be missing something, but it isn’t immediately obvious to me how to share my “sleep timeline”. Am I missing something?
It’s useful information on its own, but it also serves as a form of shorthand for a number of things…

I know multiple Fitbit users local and they all hate the new sleep gui.

Lucky me, my Charge 5 screen came back after connecting charging cable and pressing the cable button three times.

I'm facing the same issue. Battery drained by more than 58% in a day and tracker stopped responding.

I had to reboot my charge 5 several times before I could get it to even show anything on the screen. I did get it back up but I can see others just throwing the thing away.

If you don't manually update, they will push it to you. You can't escape Google's updates.

I hate the update! I liked the sleep stages, and not just knowing if I was awake or restless. I have COPD, and I monitored my oxygen saturation every morning. Now, all I use this for is a step counter. You should probably improve your product when updating, not make it worse. I will be looking for another device to wear, and it will not be through Fitbit. You need to go back to your old version.

Keep restarting your device. It took 3x before mine came back.

My steps have significantly decreased since the update. I thought I was just getting lazier but by reading these maybe it is the updates tracking things differently.

I restarted my FitBit 4 times. Can you see sleep stages, oxygen saturation, and heart rate?

After this it worked for about 1 day before the screen going blank and unresposive. Still connected to the app. Attempting multiple resets using the charger and clock face changes. Eventually it stopped responding to the resets. I then realised it had also stopped charging including no vibrate when connected to the cradle. I at first assumed the charge cradle was now broken. Charge got down to almost zero so I gave up for a while. Next day tried again and now the C5 was accepting a charge again. First time I have had the 'issue' causing it not to accept a charge. Didn't know the charging was under software control. Can't be hardware or wouldn't have started working again. Have also found recently that doing a reset via the C5 menu can trigger a blank screen episode.
When your C5 is connected to the app, can Google do random 'sh*t' to it over the internet??? Is there a team sitting there just doing random things to random users for a laugh .................??????????
Everything has been working OK now for about a week - charge down to 42% I am going to wait until low before recharging again.
