Charge 5 Randomly Turns Off/Shuts Down

I would like to say that I’m a big Fitbit fan, I have numerous versions and do like the Charge 5 but I’m having a sporadic issue with it shutting down. I hate to start another thread as I understand there many like this for example

I thought I was getting somewhere when I managed to get into a chat with the Fitbit Team and was given a chat inquiry (#42792045). I was given the standard responses:

  • Have you tried resetting it via the charging lead?
  • Is the battery fully charged?
  • Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it?
  • Have you tried clearing user data from your Charge 5?

I’ve tried them all with limited success. As I have said the problem is sporadic and sometimes (like this week) it has happened on consecutive days, before that, I went for three weeks without the issue. Like I said I like Fitbit and don”t want to moan but being unable to turn the Fitbit back on directly from the watch its quite a hassle. I had to go home and plug the watch into the charger so on this occasion I replied to my last email from the Fitbit team only to be told by case was closed so I’m back to the forum for answers.

 

When reviewing the community forum it is obvious that this issue is still here but I’m not sure there is a proper solution. Please can you provide a solution that works, or can I replace my Fitbit under warranty?

I had to ship the watch back to London using dhl they did replace the watch
but I paid for the shipment

With the new Fitbit have you experienced the same issue? I'm hoping someone comes up with a fix or at least a reason why?

Just to keep you updated its happened twice since my last post! Today I was just stood at my desk and the watch has turned off.

Ok so happened again today, no response on here from fitbit so let’s take it back?

Just to keep a log, spoke to the chat bot (#42792045) who suggested I change the clock face? When questioned on why there was no response. Then I was told there I just had to observe the watch. I’ve been doing that for 3 months?

Random shutdown again… this time tapped twice to see the time and then it jus gave up the ghost…

Happened over Christmas period might see if I can exchange for a new one at JBHIFI.
