I've had the same issue.   Updated to 57.20001.188.58 and now my Charge5 is a blank face or X in a red circle.   No response to taps, won't sync from App.  Tried the 'restart' by pressing button power USB charging cable.   NOTHING!!!

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Patrick2011!

Sad to hear that your Charge 5 isn't working as expected.
As there might be something wrong with the clock face that's selected currently, I'd suggest to change your device's clock face to hopefully get things fixed. Here's how to do that:

How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

If your device is working as expected afterwards, you can switch back to the clock face you had selected before.

In case this won't work for you, I'd recommend to once again restart your Charge 5 as it sometimes takes more than one attempt to successfully do that. Please follow these instructions closely as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a reliable power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.
