My Charge 5 will no longer charge (anyone else see the irony here). I have cleaned the contacts on both the Fitbit and the charging cradle/cable. I have tried several different USB power adapters and yet the Charge 5 does not take a charge. It is still running, but the battery is down to just 7%. So it won't be long before it dies. Any troubleshooting suggestions? Unfortunately, I do not know anyone with a Charge 5 to be able to try their charger.

This worked for me too. Watch was stuck on 21% charge. System locked but pressing the button on charge cable worked. 👍 thanks.

I purchased my Fitbit on July 25, 2023. Three days ago the battery stopped taking a full charge. I followed all of the recommended steps on the Fitbit website with no change to the problem. I finally contacted customer support by phone. They walked me through the same troubleshooting steps with no change to the problem. The support agent finally decided to escalate the issue to technical support review. The next morning I received an email denying my warranty claim claiming that the warranty period had expired and they graciously included a link to Google's Hardware warranty page where it clearly says the product has a "one year from date of purchase" warranty. I stated earlier that I purchased the product on July 25,2023. It has not been a year since my purchase. How is the warranty expired? While they didn't sight the warranty period as the reason for the denial they did say: "Unfortunately, your product doesn’t meet the replacement requirements of our warranty policy." So a faulty battery with an issue know to Google does not meet the requirements for re[placement? Hmmm, then what does?

I hav done this numerous times and my Charge 5 still will not charge. Customer support only tells you to clean terminals and reset of which neither has done me a bit if good

It seems you’ve reached the end of the road, from which there is no return … welcome. Seems they’re engineered to last app 1.5 years (maybe). I drank one more glass of cool aid and procured a Charge 6 .. and, by doing so, was forced (won’t say bullied) into moving to Google platform (losing all friends’ data who have not yet been forced to do so). We shall see.

One thing you can try is let the watch sit long enough to be totally discharged, then try recharging. I happened to try this about a month after receiving a replacement Charge 6 that I bought after my replacement charge 5 did this in December (first Charge 5 had done it within warranty period.) Even though I'd tried attaching the charger a few times in the first week after the black screen, the watch came back to life a month later. (I was going to take it to e-waste that day, decided to try once more.) So although I'm still using the warranty replacement Charge 6, I'll keep the original for backup. I expect this to happen again, but this time I hope I won't have to buy another watch.

Thank you. The day I made my first post my Charge 5 went totally black, dead. It's been charging ever since. I just checked on it again. It is still dead. I accept that manufactured products have issues. Fine. That's what warranties are for. What angers me more is that Google flat out denied my claim even though it is clearly valid. So much for trust.

This method has worked for me in the past. When my Fitbit Charge 5 won't sync or charge today, it reset, but I lost 5,000 steps and my exercise credit.

I’m finding the same issue. My Fitbit Charge 5 is at 0% charge and I can’t get it to charge. Tried multiple usb blocks, cleaning connectors, and resetting the charger. It still won’t charge! I really miss tracking my movement and hope to find some answers!

I've tried the rest suggestion multiple times since this all started about a month ago. This solution DOES NOT WORK!

I had this and even got a white cross in a red circle. I bought a new Fitbit charge and tried the new charger on the old Fitbit and it works. It was the charger all along.

This page has been very helpful. I tried everything suggested. Cleaning 2 new cables Multiple cubes including an Apple cube. Reset, Restart ,Resynch , Re- everything Watching my 2 year old Charge 5 getting closer to becoming bricked simply because the charge circuit has failed. I am so jealous of my wifes smartwatch which she simply drops on a little pad and it charges immediately. I suppose you get what you pay for. It will cost me 2X to get a reliable tracker however this is better in the long run than continuing to buy multiple fitbits. So long Folks.

Hi, my Fitbit charge 5 stopped charging a few days ago. I have tried the 3 pulse reset. The Fitbit logo comes on, but the Fitbit still doesn’t charge. What can I do next?

Followed the instructions since my Fitbit Charge 5 would no longer charge... tried the reset twice -- did not work. Could it be a bad battery (or whatever...) in watch itself??

I had the same. Used a different charger and it worked again. Try someone else's charger before buying a new one

This did restart the fitbit but now it won't stop buzzing and logo is flashing. Any other suggestions?
