Im thinking of getting a Charge 5 but been hearing about the ”tattoogate” concerning heartrate etc with these devices and since im covered on both arms it might beca waste of cash getting one? The epoxy sticker hack, does that work with the Charge 5 or is a sticker in the way for the charger connection?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @j1ules0!

As devices as the Charge 5 use optical sensors for measuring heart rate, tattoos or even strong hair in the wrist area might impede heart rate tracking. My advice would be to give it a try though as Fibit offers a 45 day return policy if you're not satisfied with your purchase:
