Charge 5 is unresponsive

Charged my charge5 up today to 99%. Took it off charger and put it on my wrist, immediately it started vibrating profusely for approximately 60seconds and now is totally dead. It will not charge or anything. Any suggestions or is it dead?  Was purchased August 2022.  TIA.

You should contact customer support immediately. Your device is suffering the same defect experienced by many of us on this board. It cannot be repaired. Since you are within the one year warranty period, they will send you another one.

Sad to hear that you're having issues with your Charge 5. Before trowing the towel, I'd suggest trying to restart your device by closely following these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:


1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.
