Charge 5 battery draining quickly

I know that this could be dismissed easily: "Just turn 'always on' mode off"... but I literally went from 97% to 77% in 10 minutes with always on. This is really frustrating. I use always on for different activities including physio exercises. I also keep getting the message, "Add card to wallet". It has been this way for weeks. What is going on?!?

Welcome back to the Fitbit community, @Tawmis!
Sad to hear that your Charge 5 isn't working as expected. To me it seems that it's not the AOD that's draining your device's battery that fast but constant Bluetooth communication with your phone respectively the Fitbit app running on it quering for adding a card to Google Wallet.
I'd suggest to erase your Charge 5 and and start from scratch. Before doing so please make sure you've synced your device to not lose any data it might have tracked so far. Then follow the instructions provided here:

Fitbit Charge 5 Manual - Erase Charge 5

I had a problem with battery drain. My fix:

1. Reset the Fitbit Charge 5

2.Drain battery to 0% then charge to 100% and leave for an extra hour

3. Re-add to the Fitbit app (leave AOD off)

I will give it a try. Unfortunately, I don't have a charger at work and erased my data without knowing I needed it reconnect. I will have to try later.

I'm having the exact same issue as of a few days ago. My fitbit goes from fully charged to 50% in 30 minutes to an hour.

I've reset it, disabled the GPS, the display is off...

I tried it and it is still drain the battery like crazy. Went from 97% to 14% in 4 hours.

Unfortunately, I am looking for a solution in which I can use AOD. I should be able to get a day or so like I did before.

I have tried this also with no success. My Charge 5 is just over one year old and now completely useless as full battery only lasts for 30 minutes. Warranty period in Australia is 12 months, so Fitbit will not replace. Very disappointed.
