Charge 5 battery draining quickly

I have owned my Fitbit Charge 5 since January of this year.   I have owned other Fitbit devices in years past.  Everything was working great till this last update.  It’s pretty bad when I have to charge my device 3 times a day. Ironically maybe that’s why they call it a  Charge 5 charge 5 times a day to work. Terrible will not buy another Fitbit device unless you fix this one.

Hi there, @litening304. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5. I understand how you must be feeling.

If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

The battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary, but the battery shouldn't be draining only after a few hours.

I have exactly same issue. The battery of my new Fitbit Charge 5 was lasting 5 days and suddenly last week while running it became dead. After returning home  I restarted it few times, changed device clock face to a new one but nothing happened. Now the battery lasts only 30 minutes. I am not sure if the Fitbit developers has any clue about the problem. I got my new App update about 10 days ago after which my device was working without any problem for few days , but suddenly it's battery stated draining. I have contacted Fitbit customer service which is extremely slow and they have no clues about what to do. Please do something. I think thousands of not millions of Fitbit users are facing this battery problem now.

I have exactly the same problem as you do. Customer service replied to me. Told me to plug it in and push the button on the side of the charger. This is supposed to reset everything. I’ve done this many times. Doesn’t work.
Good luck, I bought a cheap tracker from Walmart in the watch section (Itech). Don’t bother with that one it’s 2000 steps off.
Thanks for the response

Ridiculous this situation. I put it on charge did what you said. Pushed buttons. 15 minutes later it stopped working again. What a piece of garbage you have created with this new update.
