Charge 5 battery draining quickly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 5 goes flat daily. I have turned off all features that might drain the battery and I have tried a hard re-start by pressing the button on the charger 3 times. The contact points are clean. My device is less than 2 years old.

I’m having the same issue and so aren’t a lot of people on here. If you contact Fitbit support they will give you 50% off a new device.

However, I feel like this is something they did via a software or hardware update. They should fix it. You won’t get a straight answer on here either. You will get a scripted reply

I got the same response from Fitbit, below is my response to support:

I do not agree that the device is broken.  It was working fine with no battery issues and  only needed to charge it once every 4 to 5 days.  I manually select an exercise that uses the GPS and ever since the battery drains with in hours.

I disabled everything and it still went from 100% to 74% in 4 hours.  This is not a hardware issue but a software issue where some process is spinning consuming CPU and hence battery.

Google is one of the largest technology companies in the world and should be able to properly diagnose and fix their software bugs.  Please escalate this issue to the next level.  I’ve been a loyal Fitbit customer for 9 years since 2015 and hope you can keep me as a customer.

Mine goes from 100% charged down to 0 in about 30 minutes. You’re lucky you get 100 to 74 in 4 hours!

You cannot use the onboard GPS at all, it’s a battery drainer. Why put it on there if it renders your Fitbit almost worthless?
