Charge 5 battery dump, now dead.

My Charge 5 went from 54% charged to 1% and died within an hour. I connected to charger and it lit up with 4% , then 5 minutes later registered 44%. Shortly after that it stopped responding completely. I tried the various procedures, such as using the charge cable button, but nothing works. I note that when left on the charger, although the device is kaput, it is gradually warming up. I will remove it. Device has only been in use for a few months although I bought it last year.

This is not the first time a Fitbit device has failed after a few months and going through all these 'fixes' that do nothing is very frustrating.

Same issue for me. It worked perfectly up until Friday. Then the battery suddenly lost a charge. I tried the reset numerous times yesterday and had it on the charger most of the day. Battery would go from a full charge to less than 20% in an hour. I normally only charge it every 4 or 5 days. Support chat couldn’t fix it. I’m past my original warranty so all I got was a discount code for a new one. This was a replacement that I’ve only had since the summer of 2022. My first charge 5 was purchased in Nov 2021 and died after wearing it in the pool last summer. So neither charge 5 has lasted me a year.

I am now grappling with Fitbit Support. All very polite but they have a 'process' to follow and I have spent a lot of time on calls explaining over and again the sequence of issues and actions. For them to consider my 'case', i.e. a dead device, I have had to take photos of the device, charger and power supply. Obviously Fitbit doing their best to find reasons for not replacing the wretched thing. Dealing with Fitbit was less painful pre-Google. While Fitbit devices get good reviews it is clear that the quality of the product is not what it should be.

I’ve had fitbits in the past and they have been great until they aren’t, I do recall the warranty process being a drawn out too and fro, even after reading all the suggested fixes (usually about a week before they will then escalate to a warranty claim) I don’t recall having to have a twitter account to get support out of hours though.

Yesterday morning at 2 am - my Charge 5 went from 58% to close to zero.  It would not sync in the morning (I didn't think to look at battery since it was charged last Wednesday, and phone app said it was at 58%).  Got busy, noticed around noon, the face would not light up.  Last night, plugged it in and found out the battery was dead.  Charged it for 45 minutes, put it back on and it has been working fine.... alarm went off as set.  Fingers crossed this was a one time episode.

Similar Issue here, had bought a Charge5 after having used Charge 2 for around 2- years. Looks like there is a build quality issue with Charge 5. I had bought it in Nov 2021 and have been facing intermittent crashes from last couple of months. It Crashes when syncing, using ECG and randomly. I have also seen the battery. Did the stuff Support recommended but no good. Last fitbit perhaps 😞 probably will settle with iwatch later this year
