  • My Fitbit 5 can only hold a charge for 1-2 days. This is so inconvenient.

A number of us experienced sudden loss of battery after updating to the latest firmware.

I suggest that you contact Fitbit support. They will walk you through a series of troubleshooting procedures. Once they confirm that none of the procedures returns your device to normal operation and if it's still under warranty, they should send you an offer to replace the tracker/pebble or a discount on a different Fitbit. If your Charge 5 is no longer under warranty, from what I've read they should send you a discount to replace your device. Note: the discount is on the full price even if the device is on sale in the Fitbit store.

My replacement Charge 5 is working fine and is back to lasting 6-7 days between charges.

Hi there, @Mccville. Welcome to the forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5. I understand how you must be feeling

If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

The battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary, but the battery shouldn't be draining only after a few hours.

If the above doesn't work, please follow @RiekoC's advice and chat with us online or give us a call. Click here to get connected.

I followed the reset procedures provided in the email then charged it last
night. I now have 73% battery which is much better than before.
