Welcome to the Fitbit community, @TAW123!

Sad to hear that you're having issues with your Charge 5. As a first step to possibly get things fixed, I'd suggest trying to restart your device by closely following these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a power source.

2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).

3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Nothing has worked and I see from other threads that this is a major issue with the Charge 5, so I am returning it as faulty to John Lewis where I purchased it

I think that you are making a wise decision. You will avoid all the frustration that you would otherwise experience as the owner of a problematic device.

I am having the same problem.  Noticed my sleep wasn’t being recorded about a week ago and now, starting 2 days ago, the device is discharging in less than 24 hours.  I will try the reboot option and if that fails contact support.

Had the same problem too. I sought help thru their chat room and was told that they will replace it. Be careful to print what they have told you.  Because, they asked me to return the device with the strap and the charger with the return label. I did but I received only the device which is like the rectangular thin piece of metal without any strap or the charger. Now I am in the process of waiting for the outcome of my complaint.  I don't know if I could trust anybody anymore.

I did all these but still had the same problem. Finally I was told that I would have a replacement and given a return label and include my starap and my charger. I did that. But after weeks of waiting I got the rectangular metal device without my strap nor the charger, which could be the culprit too. I was also instructed to follow the links to start my device. Funny thing and am frustrated, I didn't have any charger nor strap included in my replacement parcel. Hopefully, something positive will come out of my complaint that I filed a few hours ago. SOS.
