It seems to be a common problem.. If there isn't a timed failure programmed into these things I will be stunned.
My Charge 5 has been running perfectly since November 2022, It has always lasted a full week (charged on Sunday ready for new work week) I have not changed any settings or to my knowledge never updated firmware. It is running v57.20001.188.58.
All of a sudden in January this year (14 months old) it now needs to be charged at least twice a week, and has crashed a few times.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5's battery has started draining drastically since January 2024. I understand where your concern is coming from, I will do my best to help you with this!
As a first approach, please bear in mind that the battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary, but the battery shouldn't be draining only after a few hours.
If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below:
