Hi there, @rickdvskjeie. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5. I understand how you must be feeling.

If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

The battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary, but the battery shouldn't be draining only after a few hours.

Hello MarreFitbit,

I received the Charge 5 this past Xmas and the charge does not last more than 18hrs.

I have tried all the recommendations in the forum without success. Please advise next steps and assume my Fitbit is still under warranty. (?)

Thank you.

Hello & welcome @PHayes12

Sorry to see you're having problems with your Charge 5 battery.

When my Charge 5 battery started losing power very quickly, I restarted my device multiple times and kept recharging it over several days. My Charge 5 finally became "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Hopefully, you will have a similar experience.

If this doesn't work, I suggest you contact Fitbit support, especially since your Charge 5 is still under warranty. Click here for links to contact them by chat, phone, and direct message: Fitbit support
