Charge 5 battery is draining too quickly

In less than an hour and won’t let me restart it.
Title says it all. This happened suddenly yesterday. I realized my Fitbit was dead which I thought was weird since I fully charged it two days ago. But I plugged it in and then it wouldn’t turn on. Tried restarting it by pushing the charger button 3 times and nothing. Just left it on the charger overnight and woke up and it was on and fully charged so I was excited but then less than an hour of wearing it and it said battery critically low. So I charged it again and tried to reset it. Nothing happened when I tried resetting it (both with the watch face and the charger). It still drains the battery in under an hour. Anyone encountered this before. It was very sudden too and I didn’t change

Hi there, @roper22. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out.

If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please confirm that you tried a three pulse restart  by following the steps listed below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

The battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary, but the battery shouldn't be draining only after a few hours.
