After last update and nothing else changed the battery only lasts one day instead of the normal week.

Hi there, @WillemRhona. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. It's sad to hear that your Charge 5's battery started draining after the last update. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you to sort this out!

If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

The battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary, but the battery shouldn't be draining only after a few hours.

I’m having the same issue. Frustrating as hell!

My Fitbit has started doing this as well. I assume it's a problem with the recent update?

Customer support suggestions are not helpful.

What do we do when this doesnt work? Clearly a Fitbit issue and not user error...

I'm having the same issue. I tried resetting my Charge 5 from my Fitbit and also tried resetting it using the charging cable. I reset it multiple times using both methods but it doesn't help.

I have my Charge 5 charging right now; it started out at 11% went up to 35% then jumped to 57% and, after restarting it WHILE it was charging, the battery went down to 46%. Mind you, I charged it to 100% less than 24 hours ago and it was in sleep mode all day today. This is unreal!

What the heck did the latest update do to our Charge 5 batteries and when is FitBit going to fix it on their end?

I am having this problem also.  I have had this problem since about the 12th/14,th of January - please let us know what the solution is.  It is unusable.  It seems to be related to the software update.
