Charge 5 battery is quickly draining

My Charge 5 is a bit more than 1 yr old. Up until two days ago I never had any problems with it. Earlier this week the screen went black and it wouldn't turn back on, but it buzzed every few minutes and the phone app could still connect to it. I tried the reset process I read about online (pushing the button on the charger 3 times). It seemed like it worked after trying several times, but when it turned back on the battery was showing as 1% even though it had been on the charger for a few hours, and it immediately died again. I charged it overnight and the following day (yesterday) it seemed to be working as normal. Unfortunately by the end of the day the battery was down to about 15% again - it typically lasts about a week. I charged it again overnight last night, and after wearing it for about 3 hrs, it is already down to 80%, so I'll be lucky if it makes it to bedtime.
Are there settings I should be checking that would kill the battery this fast? I don't know if the reset caused things to be turned on that shouldn't be, or what.  Any tips?

When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery drain, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I noticed the battery% had a big drop, I restarted my device then put it on the charger, often doing this multiple times in a day. This process eventually got my Charge 5 "unstuck" and the battery life went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work, it might be worth a try.

Mine too, screen went to Fitbit logo for a few minutes then dark. Numerous tries of 3 times reset/ reboot, no help. Battery has gone from 64% to 92% while charging. Left in charging overnight and most of today. Battery down to 6% now while charging..no notification to update firmware to new firmware version, but charge 5 said new version was available. Tried numerous times but wouldn’t complete download.
