Charge 5 battery issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit 5 went from 96% to 0% in a matter of seconds this week. I have tried the following

1. Charge the device constantly but it stays on 1% or the fitbit logo blinks and dies

2. Used the reset button in 15 second intervals, the device vibrates bit stays on 1% or fitbit logo.

3. Used the phone to sync the device, device syncs but no change to device status

Please can someone help on what to do. Can I return the device?

Does charge 6 have a smiling issue? Can I buy that?

Thanks

Hi there, @RohanFit. Welcome to Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is no longer holding its charge. Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot this issue before reaching out. I will do my best to help you with this!

As a first approach, please note that sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working.  Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.

When it has had two hours, try restarting your Charge 5. I would recommend trying this maybe twice in a row if a first try doesn’t work.

As for the battery draining quickly,
please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your revert.

I have tried all the steps below and the battery will not budge past the 1% mark. The fitbit screen is flickering and changing watch face, restarting etc hasn't help.

I am seeing this is a common issue so what is fitbit doing to resolve? Will there be a security update patch to resolve this?
