Prior to charging my Charge5, its battery percentage showed 30%. As soon as it was connected to the charger, the percentage jumped to 71%.
I notice as well it will go from 100% to 50% over a number of days, and then from 50% to 15% overnight.
Anyone have a solution for these issues please? I've started to not depend on the %value, and charge it every 4-5 days.

Hi there, @Daeten. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that the battery of your Charge 5 is not working properly anymore, I understand your concern.
As @Julia_G has mentioned, bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%. Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning).
If your Charge 5 is also not charging properly, note that there are some issues that affect this, being which power source is used and how clean the contacts are and how well the charger is seated. If you are charging your Charge 5 on the wall socket, try using another CE certified USB adapter for low energy devices. Hi, @Daeten , the Charge 5 is now quite an elderly device in wearable technology terms. As I am sure you are aware, all rechargeable batteries have a limited life span, and that can vary depending on how the battery has been managed.
Unfortunately, one of the signs of a battery beginning to deteriorate is rapid drop once it gets below about 50%, but also variability and inconsistency in the reported charge state.
In this case I would treat the Charge 5 battery gently and it will probably keep on working for you for many months or even years more. Please do not allow it to get to critical low battery if at all possible. Ideally keep the battery between 30-80%. Charging for a short time every day is just fine, and that is what I usually recommend.

Hi Julia_G, thank you for your response. I will do as you say. The odd thing with this device is its working life is only about 15months, it was a replacement device, the previous got the white cross/red circle issue.
