Charge 5 battery not charging

My charge 5 suddenly lost its charge as soon as I connected the cable the screen indicated 1% charge I could sync all okay but the Fitbit has been connected to the charger for11hours but still only shows 1% as soon as I take the chagrin cable off the back of the Fitbit it goes dead  any idea why this has happened and a solution to fix

Mine did the same thing.  I cleaned it with a tissue & it worked.  It's not keeping data though now.

Thanks for your reply I have just re contacted Fitbit who are now sending me a replacement.
