Charge 5 black screen not responsive

My charge 5 watch has suddenly stopped working.  It is 15 months old.  I have tried pressing the battery charger button three times but nothing happens; no vibration or no fitbit logo appears.  I have also tried to change the clock face via the app but it won't update.  App won't sync with watch.  It is saying the app was last updated on 5th September 24 and this is the day the watch stopped working.  Please help

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Martina1971!

Sad to hear you're having issues with your Charge 5.
As it sometimes requires more than one attempt to restart Charge 5, I'd suggest to give it another try. Before doing so you should verify that the charging contacts on your device are clean and the charging pins on it's charging adapter are clean as well and can move flawlessly. In doubt please have a look here:

How do I clean my Fitbit device?

Next please closely follow these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a reliable power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yep, I believe they intentionally bugged the charge 5 so we'd have to upgrade. I highly recommend switching to a different brand. I've had this same issue with fitbit for about 6 years. NO watch has ever lasted longer than 20 months, conveniently out of warranty zone.

HA! It won't work. Been trying everything to get it started again. It just mocks me.
