Charge 5 blank screen and battery draining quickly

Hi All, I see that a number of people are having some real issues with their Charge 5 since a few days ago. My Charge 5 has had serious issues since Saturday evening. It was all good until Saturday, when it lost charge. Now after I charge it, the battery discharges very rapidly like 100% to 53% in 1 hour. Before Saturday I would always get at least 6 days of battery life. The worst part the screen is now black and unresponsive. I've tried to reset numerous times with the cable charger (pressing button 3 times), logo flashes up then goes black. I thought I'd be smart and follow some of the other treads and disconnect my Charge 5 from my fitbit app (turn off bluetooth - reset etc etc), but guess what..... with a black screen I can't see the PIN number to reconnect the Charge 5 to my phone. My phone found my Charge 5 and wants to connect but I can't see the PIN....ridiculous....Anyone else have any ideas???? To add insult to injury, this is my second fitbit that has played up on me after about 1 year...

Hi, @MinStroll, welcome, you seem to have tried the customary solutions, I note you will not under the present circumstances be able to try changing the clock face in the Fitbit app until you pair it again. You mention you've had your Charge 5 for about 1 year, you should check the precise date as you might still benefit from Fitbit's return and warranty policy depending on where you are and from whom you bought it and when. Contact "Customer Support" to see if a replacement is available, the agent will need the information mentioned above.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Well an update on my Charge 5. I left it charging for 1 entire day (no-one seems to have tried this one) and screen has come back (albiet with white lines and flashes grey), but able to get the PIN and re-establish connection with my phone. Then change clock faces and the white lines and grey flashing screen have calmed down to an intermittent annoyance. Battery life is not good - get of maximum of 2 days out of the watch on very little activity. Have not taken it on a run yet (usually do 5 km's), so will see if it goes the distance.

Anyway, fair to say my relationship with Fitbit is not good. My second tracker that has just clocked over a year and is already failing. Honestly was expecting these things to last at least 2-3 years.

In the throes of breaking-up but just haven't technically split. Out there exploring other options swiping left and right - Garmin Vivo caught my eye........
