Charge 5 blank screen

My charge 5 has frequently become unresponsive over the past month. I get a black screen even when battery is 80% charged, and screen only reappears when I charge.

I’ve restarted many times and also unpaired from phone and then reconnected.

tonight I have a new problem - a solid red light at back of device. Please help.

Hi there, @GAReed84. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 5 is not working properly. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Before considering other options, I'd like to confirm if you've tried the following steps in the order listed:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device once again as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

Regarding the red light, please note that the red light is the oxygen saturation function. For more information, click here. However, if your Charge 5 is stuck on the red light and not showing the green lights nor it's tracking your heart rate, please let me know.
