Charge 5 blank screen

My charge 5 has a black screen, and battery won’t charge. Suspicious as it started missing some sleep time on 17th August (same date as quite a few others) then wouldn’t charge. Did all suggested things for few days, and screen started working for short while, but then died again.

Was there a software update around this time?

Hi, @Diannestillmore , you are always in charge of when you update your Fitbit’s software.  It will only be updated when you get notification in your app (along with large pink arrow) that an update is available for you.  So you can rule out that as a reason for what you are seeing unless you have personally recently updated your Fitbit’s software.

Have you had a look at the troubleshooting help article Why isn’t my Fitbit battery charging? That can give you some helpful tips to get it going again.  Also, if a battery has died completely the Fitbit may have become unresponsive - it may actually be charging, even though nothing shows on the screen.  I would recommend giving it a couple of hours charge from a wall charger known to be working.  Leave it charging even if nothing appears to be happening.  After a couple of hours try the restart procedure (you may need to restart a couple of times, but with luck it will spring back to life).

Many people have also found that changing the Fitbit clock face resolves a blank screen issue.  Changing the clock face is done in the app and the instructions are here .  You will need to sync your Fitbit once you have changed the clock face, so do give it a chance to charge first.

If none of these steps resolves your issue you may want to get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.fitbit.com .

I hope this helps!  Welcome to the Community Forums.
