Charge 5 display MIA, but tracker still working

Sounds like our Charge 5 devices caught electronic COVID or Monkeypox, based on all the other recent posts here with similar issues.  My Charge 5 purchased April 2022 was working fine...until today when the display went totally black and didn't respond to taps or anything.  Figured battery might have died, so plugged it in to charge and no response even after 1 hour.  Went thru 3 different online "chats" with FitBit help.  Reset with the button on USB cord several times;  went through numerous "try this".  Seems the "update tracker" corrupted something but never fully updated as the FitBit app keeps bouncing back to the "update tracker" screen while showing "looking".  The only change is that now the FitBit logo flashes every 5 seconds on my Charge 5 display, which is otherwise black and showing nothing.  FitBit help/chat group gave up and said they'll have "higher group" send me an email tomorrow.

Basically the same thing here,  all the screen issue posts are a bummer. Mines not even a year old, for the price I’m hoping they replace it without a hassle

I believe you misused 'MIA'. But mine’s just fine. I got it for my bday and it’s been completely functional for the past few months since. I don’t really get how these Fitbit’s can malfunction pretty quickly.

By MIA, I meant the function of the display was missing, even though the tracking function was still operational (“in action”) as I could see updates on the Fitbit app.
It’s disappointing that Charge5 has this massive problem affecting numbers of people and FitBit is offering no solution.
Good luck with yours.
