Charge 5 Time is Wrong

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The time on my Fitbit randomly went backwards approximately 4hrs and 27 minutes yesterday.

My app says it’s still on the correct time zone, however it is currently displaying as 3:27 am when it is actually 7:54 am my time.

Hi, welcome to the Community forums, @Devinr

Thank yo for all the details about the inconvenience you're experiencing with your Charge 5.

Before considering other options, please make sure your phone meets the requirements listed hereKeep in mind that your Charge 5 may show an incorrect time if it hasn't synced or if it has been unpaired from your Fitbit account. Your Fitbit grabs the time of the device you're using to sync your data. If you haven't done so already, please try removing the Bluetooth connection between your phone and your Fitbit device:

  • On your phone, tap Settings > Bluetooth > the information icon next to the name of your Fitbit device > Forget This Device.
  • Open the Fitbit app and set up the connection again. You should receive a message asking you to allow your Fitbit device to pair with your phone. Tap Pair to approve the request.

Sync your Charge 5 automatically when you open the Fitbit app or manually by tapping your profile picture > your device tile > Sync Now. If the issue persists, please see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

If you're still having the same inconvenience, please complete a three pulse restart and let me know if you continue to experience the same behavior afterwards:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Hope this helps, I'll be around.

Darn, I had this same problem. Went to a different time zone, charge 5 synced correctly… went back home, charge 5 stuck on the told time.

i followed the steps above exactly as you outlined.  First the Bluetooth disconnect (didn’t help) then the 3-pulse (I saw the Fitbit logo on the watch).  Still the wrong time.  😞

Edit:  I deleted the Fitbit app and reinstalled it. That worked!! 🙂
