My charge 5 worked well for the first two weeks but since then the hr monitor has stoped working which causes it to not track my zone minutes which cause my readiness score to be inaccurate which is the reason why I bought the device in the first place. Yes I tried restarting it.

The possibly obvious solution: check in Settings that 'Heart Rate' is not turned off.

I’ve experienced this as well.
What I found to work is to place it 2 finger widths above the wrist bone and in my case on my arm without my sleeve tattoo.

@Dane02 So are you saying it does pick up heart rate when you are not exercising? That's not at all what your original post sounded like, at least to me.
(Didn't mean to be rude, just trying to better understand issue.)

Ok my apologies, the hr monitor does work, just not when I’m working out. I’ve tried tightening/ loosening the strap and wearing it higher up on my arm.

I experienced something similar for the first time today. I do HIIT five times a week, and getting pretty good Data from my charge 5. Today’s session however failed Record my heartbeat, and only recorded about a third of the calories burned that I normally achieve in this 45 workout. never seen this before on any of my Fitbits.
have a look at the attached screenshot of my recent workouts. Note the Boot Camp‘s are all pretty consistent, and the walks seem to record well, although perhaps a little over optimistic 🙂
thoughts?

This is "out-of-the-box" thinking, but on another brand's device it corrected a similar issue with HR recording for me. Make sure the sensors are clean. After each workout I rinse and wipe the device with a microfiber cloth (especially the sensors). A film (not always visible) builds up quickly and can impair the ability read the light within the illuminated skin layers.

That is exactly what my Charge 5 does as well. Walking/riding it records zone minutes but not while I'm working out near my max HR.
