My charge 5 has been fine lasting 7 or so days between charges since I bought it but appears Fitbit are controlling battery life from their servers! About a week ago saw a notification banner in the app saying that a new firmware update was available. I HAVEN’T updated and keep dismissing the banner, but ever since the notification, my Fitbit drains in a day or two. I charged FULLY yesterday and now at 49%. Something dodgy going on when it’s fine then drains overnight, trying to force me to update on a device that previously was fine. Time for a Garmin I think. Managed without Fitbit before so won’t be any FOMO not having it again!

It's not just you. I charge my device 100% and the battery drains in just 1 hour. This malfunction started after firmware update 1.188.58 last week.- I started wearing charge 5 eight months ago, too early for battery failure

I naively bought the charge 5 as replacement for my charge 3 which had exactly the same battery issues, though they was only in March. I haven’t actually installed the update but not just coincidence that my battery drains overnight the minute they try to get me to upgrade the firmware
