My current (about 5 months old) FitBit Charge 5 "face" separated from the casing and band today - dangling by a connecting band. Thankfully it didn't bounce into the pan while cooking dinner. It is still working and the face is now held in place by a rubber band...very attractive!
Ideas about what to do?

Welcome back to the Fitbit community, @ReginaSF!
Sad to hear that you're having issues with your Charge 5. If the mechanism for attaching the band is broke I'd suggest to contact Fitbit support to get the device replaced as it should be covered by Fitbit's warranty being just 5 months old:

Would something like this help? https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005003999132921.html?gatewayAdapt=Msite2Pc
Looks a bit bulky but better than elastic
