Charge 5 fails to sync with iPhone

After having experienced few problems with syncing before, it appears my last sync was about 10 o'clock last night according to the fitbit.com dashboard info.  It's now 6 pm.  My actual charge 5 display shows that I've met >250 steps for 5 hour slots (8am - 12 pm), but nothing for current hours since then.  (i.e., instead of showing, say, 125 steps out of 250 for the 3:00 hour, it still just indicates successfully meeting hours 8 thru 12.)    And it is have ZERO luck syncing with my iPhone.  This is frustrating; I charged my fitbit this morning so it is at least 80% charged.

Hi, it's good to see you participating in the community forums, @MagnetGuru.

Thank you for the details provided about the inconvenience with your Charge 5.

Let me know if you're seeing any specific error message or if you're generally having issues to sync your data. There are a few steps that have been useful for other people to resolve syncing issues.  Let me know if you already tried all the steps listed here and make sure to check the compatibility requirements listed here as well.

If the issue persists, I recommend that you try restarting the device using the three pulse restart method with the charging cable. In addition, please try the following steps:

  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn Bluetooth off and on.
  • Open the Fitbit app and sync again
