Charge 5 has been locked

My charge 5 has been locked and cannot be paired, cause warranty issue or report lost?? have contacted support but no solution just a waste of time and energy. Wait for help before throwing it in the trash and buy Huawei

Sad to hear you're having issues with your Charge 5.
As a first approach to hopefully get things fixed, I'd suggest restarting it. Before doing so you should make sure you've synced your device to not lose any data tracked so far. Also you should verify that the charging contacts on your device are clean and the charging pins on it's charging adapter are clean as well and can move flawlessly. In doubt please have a look here:

Next please closely follow these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a reliable power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

I'd like to point out that it sometimes requires more than one attempt to restart Charge 5. So, before throwing the towel, please give it another try.

I have exactly the same problem - was working fine until a day ago. My Charge 5 is less than 12 months old and the same thing happened with my previous Charge 5. It is just dead and unresponsive to any action being taken - not damaged or wet. Time to switch brands I think. Pity as when it works it is great.

I have the same problem. Charging is still working and visible in the app. But no display on the charge 5 and tracker seems to be dead, but synchronizes in the background without a screen on the charge 5

I have a similar problem with Charge 5.  Screen totally unresponsive.  Was 50% charged when synced 4 hours ago.  Now won’t sync, doesn’t seem to want to charge, totally black screen when on charge initially now shows the Fitbit logo which then disappears after a couple of minutes, what's going on?

I have decided after numerous errors and appalling customer device to find another device.  It is a shame as when Fitbit is working it is good but after being given a case number a month ago and with various complaint emails with no response from anybody I can not carry on with Fitbit.  I am beyond exhausted and frustrated with them. Good luck.

Likewise, after having 4 FitBits in 5 years I have lost confidence in the product and support. Reading all the comments about various FitBits suddenly stopping working and also friends experiencing the same problem, I have decided it is time to try another brand of smartwatch/tracker - surely there are more reliable brands.
