My Charge 5 started flashing the logo and a white circle with a red X. Through the forums, I found a suggestion to restart the device with the charger. I did that and it changed nothing. Is there anything else to do or is the circle and X combo the Fitbit death sign?

@Punkhaz Welcome to the Fitbit community!
What you described, sounds to me as if you'd tried to install another clock face but the procedure couldn't complete.
Please connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a power source. Then select another clock face in the Fitbit app gallery for installation. Pay attention to keeping your Charge 5 and your phone close together while the new clock face is being transferred.

Umm, no. I was not trying to change anything on the Charge 5. I had gone swimming with it on low battery, fully charged it, and then it started flashing the logo and circle with a X. Of course, I had the charging cable plugged in when I attempted the restart, which didn't do or change anything. The fitbit is not operating at all. There is no clock face.

@Punkhaz Thanks for your fast feedback. Seems that I was on the wrong track assuming an issue with clock faces.
But I've found a thread concerning the same issue as the one you've mentioned. I hope it will help you solve the problem:
Charge 5 - stuck with logo and then later red circle with white X in the center
I'll keep my fingers crossed. 🤞

Thank you for this suggestion. I tried to let the Fitbit battery die, which I have no idea of the battery status due to the face showing absolutely nothing. I then cleaned the back of the Fitbit with rubbing alcohol, as suggested, and changed the usb port multiple times and through various means. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. The Fitbit did vibrate when I reconnected it to the charger and vibrated each time I pressed the button; however, this only happened the very first time. Since then, there has been no response from the Fitbit other than the green light on the back lighting up and then disappearing. I have run out of hope for this Fitbit. I only just got this in July...

Hi @Punkhaz , have you had any joy with resolving this? I’m having the same problem. Have done the “3 pulse reset” and nothing changed; the blue Fitbit icon for a second, then the circle with cross. The app isn’t able to recognise/find and sync with my device.
I also did nothing to the clock face. I also have no idea if there is any battery charge or not. Really frustrating about a device that didn’t work consistently in the first place!
