My Charge 5 just stopped working. Last thing I saw was Fitbit logo. I tried to charge but no luck. Also tried different power sources and the reset button. Fitbit support gave me a ticket number and asked me to leave it charge for 30 minutes and call back. Status quo. It is dead now. Any thoughts?

Mine literally did the same thing about an hour ago. Charged it normally yesterday, today used it for my workout and no issues. Then after dinner noticed it wouldn’t wake to show me the screen at all. Plugged it into the charger and got the Fitbit logo. Did a reset and it showed 0% on my battery and was charging. Made it to 2% and just bricked on me. Can’t get it to do anything right now.

Coincidence or planned obsolescence?
I have been offered a 35% discount to buy another one. Not crazy about this idea as I will likely be in the same situation next year.

I read in the Community posts that if you go to your fitbit app and change the clock face it will reset and start working again. This worked for me. I am back online. Why wouldn't fitbit customer service suggest this before giving up and trying to sell me a new one at 35% off? Hmmm.

My Fitbit died on 8/30 it won't charge or do anything. This is my third Fitbit that has done this after one year.

I'm on my second one. How can this be right, I just got an email telling me to turn of auto payments, notifications, auto tracking exercises and all alarms. my battery is only lasting 52 mins. What's the point of buying something like this and not being able to use it as designed. If I wanted just a step tracker, I'd wait for weet-bix to give them away for free in their cereals'.

As an update, I went on the fitbit app, changed the clock face and then it stated working again. It was fully charged to 100%. Two hours in it went dead again. What's going on? I am not interested in buying a new one every year (just after it goes out of replacement warranty). Even at 35% off, no thanks.
I had a Polar before and it was great. Any other suggestions for a new one?
I do not like supporting companies that don't produce quality products. I like the fitbit and the metrics but once you have an issue (clearly a common issue) you are on your own. That is weak customer service in my opinion.

Looking at all the products boards, the firmware update appears to be a common thread in device failures. My charge 5 died during the night while I was wearing it. I was able to revive it even though it became very hot. Two hours later, it was totally dead and nothing I tried helped. Then came the 35% discount offer as so many people have been offered. I was going to buy a new Fitbit, but canceled my order and my premium membership because customers should not be treated so poorly. I had a Bud Light moment and decided this company should maybe feel the wrath…I ordered a different tracker from a different company. After 10 years…Never again for Fitbit and I will never recommend it ever again.

Join the club. Millions of us have a useless piece of crap now. I wonder what they will do when we all go to other brands. I've been with fitbit since my Charge 2. I swear they've been **ahem**e since the Google buy. This is the only NOT issue but clearly the worse. Good luck.

Changing the clock face worked once for me, but when the battery drained completely from 100% after less than 12 hours, the so called "fix" of changing the clock face no longer worked (and still doesn't). Customer service saying it's the battery hardware that is the issue is ridiculous since it will charge fully, the logo shows when placed on charger or shows install of a new clock face, but other than that nothing but a black screen...does not even vibrate when put on charger but will still charge and sync. Additionally, if they want to claim that the battery is all of a sudden the problem when my device is less than 2 years old, then I also feel customer service is admitting they are selling cheap, low quality products that are setting customers up to have to spend more money. There is more to the issue that everyone is having with their trackers having nothing but black screens, an issue that has been caused by Fitbit, but Fitbit refuses to admit to, address, offer real solutions to fix them, and obviously completely unwilling to replace the devices at no cost to us the customers who have been effected by this.
And on a side note, it's also pretty shameful that not only does Fitbit refuse to replace our devices that are out of the blue suffering this issue at no cost to us, that US customers are only given a 1 year warranty while customers over seas are given a 2 year warranty for the same devices.

Mine did this yesterday. It won't reset and vibrated until the battery died. I loved my first Charge, I think it was a 2, but I have had my Charge 5 for a little more than a year and have had nothing but problems. If I can't get it going I am probably done with Fitbit.
