Charge 5 has no ECG app

I cannot find the ecg apps on the watch. Is this available in malaysia?

I don't think it is available there yet.

Here's a link and if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you can see the list of countries that have it right now.  Other countries (including mine) are waiting on official approval from the authorities in the country for Fitbit to release it.  In this case it's out of Fitbit's hands as they have to wait for it to be approved.

Let's hope it happens soon!  I want to try it myself!

Thank you for sharing your inquiry about the Charge 5 and the ECG feature. 

As @Wibby mentioned earlier, unfortunately the ECG feature is not available in all countries for the moment and it would not be possible to receive the feature by changing the location on the Fitbit app, since this feature often requires the approval of certain agencies and institutions of each country before they can be activated for use. I recommend that you review this list periodically to check if your country has been added.

In the meantime, I recommend that you post the suggestion to add your country to this list in the Feature Suggestion board of the Community. This section is monitored regularly by the team of developers and it's always helpful for community members to share their feedback and support for this suggestion.

If I buy Fitbit 5 from a country that has ECG feature, will it work in my country. For example, Singapore has ECG but Malaysia don't have. Can i buy in Singapore and use it in Malaysia. Will the ECG work?

From what other people have said, it seems that the next country blocks it somehow.  

I’ve heard of people using it in one country but then finding it had vanished when they moved to another one.

You could, but try not to be too upset if it disappears until the authorities approve it there.

Thanks for the input. I'm planning to get a friend in Singapore to get it for me and ship it over to Malaysia. Hope that works.

Thank you for sharing your inquiry about the ECG feature. 

Unfortunately the ECG feature is restricted by location and it won't be available if you're located in a country that is not on this list. It wouldn't be possible to use ECG even if the device was purchased from a country where the feature is available. 

If you haven't done so already, make sure to vote for this suggestion posted in the Community forums: Make ECG app available in Malaysia on Charge 5.

Better don't, I just bought the Charge 5 with ECG app on 22/10/2022 from Singapore, I wearing for 1 week tested and everything worked fine including the ECG app, but the ECG app was removed when I returned to Johor Bahru, Malaysia on 27/10/2022.

And i went to Johor Bahru again on 29/10/2022 just opposite Singapore and using the Singapore sim card to test the ECG app and it detected automatically and again it removed when I leave the place and the phone detected Malaysia mobile data.
