Be for swimming. I set the water mode.
then while swimming, I could see the display. After swimming the charge 5 was dead.
I plugged it to the charger and the watch vibrated, but no display. I charged it for a full day, still no operation and no syncing with the app. After two weeks of sitting idle, the Charge 5 is dead.

Hi @Mike2635 and welcome to the community.
Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear that after swimming, your Charge 5 was dead.
If your device gets wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your device comes into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth.
You can have more information in the following help article: Can I swim or shower with my Fitbit device?
Could you please confirm if you tried to restart your Charge 5? How do I restart my Fitbit device?
May I also suggest you to read and follow the steps shown here? Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

The Charge 5 was dried off and the contacts are very clean.
so sad the device is dead, as the Charge 5 is swimmable!
I am not pleased by it’s failure.

I will attempt the following:
Another way to restart your device is to unplug it, wait a second, and plug it back in. Repeat this process 3 times in an 8 seconds interval and then wait 10 seconds until the device restarts.

Hello @Mike2635
I see that you turned on the Water lock feature before you went swimming. Were you able to turn off Water Lock after you got done?
I found that it takes very strong, firm tapping on the display to turn off the Water lock feature. It could be that the feature is still turned on. Try putting the device on a table or counter top and firmly, strongly tap on the display.

Yes, I attempted to turn off the water lock after swimming and I just tried again, after charging it overnight.
Unfortunately , to no avail.
The Charge 5 is dead due to swimming in five to six feet of water.
May I receive a good discount on a replacement Charge 6?

Hi Mike, did you have any joy with this? Having the same issue to be told 'it was submerged too long on the water and I have to buy a new one (with 35% discount) as it's out of warranty ' but also told they don't make a waterproof Fitbit, only water resistant.
I same situation, swimming in @approx 3ft of water, dead when I got out.
They're clearly barely water resistant. Very annoying!!
