If I try syncing my Fitbit iOS app with my Charge 5, 9/10 times it just doesn't happen for no particular reason.
The sad thing here are Fitbit's responses to users who encountered this problem. These responses seem like they were written by lawyers who want to make sure they are covered rather than by customer service professionals who really want to assist.
I should be able to sync my Charge 5 easily, without having to go through a 6-7 step procedure (restart watch, restart app, restart phone, uninstall, install, re-install, restart watch again, and so forth).
All in all, a very frustrating experience.

Same problem with Android phone... "Are you sure you are connected to the charger? Try again" rinse, repeat.

That did not work. The Fitbit is showing steps I have taken, but the app is only showing steps I have taken while carrying my phone.

I too am extremely frustrated by the steps that need to be taken in order to refresh information on my iPhones home screen. The synchronized button on the home screen does not appear to work. Poulter refresh works intermittently. Clicking on previous day and going back two or three days and then pressing next day Until finally, reaching today has shown greater success in updating the home screen. Clicking on device/app in the upper left-hand corner, then clicking on my tracker and then tapping on the synchronize now button to synchronize three or four times has been the most effective. I still in some cases After doing all of this find I need to click on the specific tile I wish to see the updated information on and then backing out to the home screen in order to see the updated tile information. I am a blind user using an Apple iPhone SE third generation, running 17.2.1 the most current version of the charge five firmware And version 4.06. If you check the iOS forum, you will see that there are numerous reports concerning this problem and you will know that Fitbit moderators are aware.
